I am, however, at least in possession of a cheap full length mirror from Argos. It will have to hang in the sitting room for the moment, until I can replace one of the upstairs hooks to take the weight (it is a good thing I did not buy an expensive mirror, or I'd be annoyed to have bashed a corner of the frame already, but as it is I can just repaint said corner). Also the hanging fittings are entirely inadequate, so I shall have to find somewhere in central Oxford that sells screws and so on. But it was £20 and the actual glass is good, so I can't complain too much. And now I can see my ankles and turn up my trousers to the right length, which is much better than either climbing on the bed, or trying to see my reflection in the front door.
I have officially given up on the sequel to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I find Lisbeth Salander wholly uninteresting.
